NCR in DC! 1: It VASTLY improves on the scripting capabilities of the game engine, allowing quest mods and vehicles and all other manner of shenanigans that the stock scripting engine isn’t capable of. Once installed, no additional steps are needed to launch Skyrim with SKSE’s added functionality. The Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is a tool used by many Skyrim mods that expands scripting capabilities and adds additional functionality to the game. There is now an alpha being tested for the SSE, however. Thing is, SKSE was created for the 32 bit Skyrim, and Skyrim Special Edition is 64 bit, meaning the current version of SKSE won’t work with the Special Edition. Skyrim SE versions of SkyUI and Skyrim Script Extender are in the works.
